Edinburg Chamber to Host 2024 Installation and Awards Banquet, Accepting Nominations

EDINBURG — The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Installation & Awards Banquet on Wednesday, Nov. 13, celebrating a year of community achievements and leadership transitions. The banquet will honor Kelly Rivera Salazar, the outgoing President, and introduce Ruben James De Jesus as the new President of the Board. This year’s theme, “007 Soirée,” promises an evening of elegance and excitement.

The Chamber is now accepting nominations for its 2024 awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the Edinburg community in seven categories:

  • Man & Woman of the Year: This award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the Edinburg community, demonstrating selfless service and involvement in civic, non-profit, or other community-focused organizations. Nominees must reside, work, or own a business in Edinburg.
  • Small Business of the Year: Recognizes a small business that has demonstrated leadership, innovation, and integrity. Nominees must be active members of the Edinburg Chamber.
  • Pride of Edinburg Award: Celebrates a business that embodies the spirit of Edinburg, showing strong community values and involvement. Nominees must be active Chamber members.
  • Best Newcomer Award: Recognizes a new member of the Edinburg Chamber (within the last two years) that has quickly made a positive impact on the business community.
  • Excellence in Education Award: Honors individuals or organizations that have significantly contributed to education in Edinburg, showing dedication and innovation in teaching, student development, or community engagement.
  • Best Community Event Award: Recognizes an event held between October 2023 and October 2024 that positively impacted the community by raising awareness, attracting visitors, or supporting local causes.
  • Hometown Hero Award: Acknowledges individuals, businesses, or organizations that have shown exceptional support for veterans or law enforcement causes, making a lasting impact on the community.
