EDINBURG — The City of Edinburg’s Cultural Arts Department will present the Nuestra Herencia dance concert on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, located at 200 N. 7th Ave. The event will feature Edinburg’s Conceptos Dance Ensemble alongside guest performances from the ECISD Johnny G. Economedes High School Grupo Folklorico Jaguar and PSJA-ISD North Early College High School Grupo Folklorico Ichtequi.

The two-hour performance, a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, will highlight vibrant music, traditional costumes, and a variety of dance styles. Tickets are $10 each, and children under 10 can attend for free. Tickets are available at edinburgarts.com/conceptos or at the door.

Raúl Galván directs the Conceptos Dance Ensemble, supported by Cati Gómez. The group, composed of dancers ranging from high school students to adults, is a familiar presence at local events and festivals. The group also hosts the annual RGV Dance Festival.

“It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been able to have our Nuestra Herencia recital,” said Magdiel Castle, assistant director for cultural arts. “We are delighted to bring this beautiful annual celebration to the stage and feature some of our fellow ensemble partners.”

Guest ensembles in the lineup have performed at the RGV Dance Festival and other events throughout the Valley and beyond. Castle noted the dedication of the performers, who rehearse throughout the summer to prepare for events like this.

Public parking is available in front of Edinburg City Hall. Proceeds from the event will support the Conceptos Dance Ensemble.
