Fire Stoppers Festival Returns to Edinburg in October

Staff Report

EDINBURG — The Fire Stoppers Festival is set to return for its 32nd year on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Edinburg Central Fire Station. The annual event, hosted by the Edinburg Fire Department, is free and open to the public.

This year’s festival will feature a new addition—a character parade, which begins at 7:30 p.m. near Edinburg City Hall and ends in front of the fire station. The family-friendly event will also offer food trucks, vendors, kiddie rides, and a free outdoor screening of the popular 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In addition to entertainment, the festival aims to promote fire prevention through educational activities, offering attendees tips and resources for staying safe. Other attractions include costume contests, a foam party, mini golf, and an animal exhibit.

For more information, residents can contact the Edinburg Fire Department at (956) 383-7691.
