Man Stabbed in Edinburg; Two Suspects Arrested Following Police Pursuit

EDINBURG, Texas – July 2, 2024 — Edinburg police officers responded to a stabbing incident early Tuesday morning, discovering a male victim at 1102 W. Trenton with multiple injuries. 

The victim, who was in stable condition, reported being assaulted by his girlfriend and a male friend at his apartment in the 500 block of N. Edgewood.

Upon arrival shortly before 8:30 a.m., officers found the victim with stab wounds, facial bruises, and cuts on his knuckles. The Edinburg Police Department Criminal Investigations Division quickly identified the suspects as Miguel Angel Pedroza, 30, and Caroline Valadez, 29.

Later that day, officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspects’ vehicle, which resulted in a high-speed chase. Edinburg police disengaged as the pursuit left city limits, with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) taking over. The chase concluded at 2nd Street and Business 83, where a third suspect, Catarina Olivo, 31, was charged with evading arrest in a vehicle.

Edinburg police extended their gratitude to DPS for their assistance in apprehending the suspects. The investigation into the stabbing continues.
