Edinburg Unveils De Zavala City/School Park Today

Edinburg, Texas, December 4, 2023 — In a celebration of community and recreation, the City of Edinburg will host the grand opening of De Zavala Park, a collaborative effort with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District and Hidalgo County Precinct 4. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled today at 5:30 p.m.
Located at 3107 N. Mon Mack Road, this $1.5 million project signifies a significant addition to the city’s green spaces. The park boasts various amenities, including a splash pad, restrooms, a walking/running trail, a basketball court with a distinctive metal roof structure, and multi-use fields.
The development of De Zavala Park aligns with the city’s commitment to provide diverse recreational opportunities for residents. The park’s features cater to different interests, ensuring a welcoming space for families and individuals alike.
As part of the ongoing enhancements, an all-inclusive playscape is on the horizon, with construction scheduled for the spring of 2024. This addition will further contribute to the park’s appeal, offering a space where all members of the community can engage in recreational activities.
