Set to take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, this poignant event stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit and unity that emerged from the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The event has already reached capacity.

The 5K Memorial Run/Walk not only pays homage to the fallen but also serves as a symbol of resilience and solidarity. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. at Edinburg Fire Station 1, located at 212 W. McIntyre Street, in honor of the first responders that arrived on scene that fateful day in New York City, and those that continue to serve the community of Edinburg.

This year’s event will also include the inaugural ‘Shawn Snider First Responder Award’ for the initial first responder to cross the finish line, in memory of the Edinburg Fire Department’s late fire chief.
