TONIGHT: Edinburg PD Celebrates 27th National Night Out, 100 Years of Service to the City
Edinburg, TX, August 1, 2023 – The Edinburg Police Department is gearing up for the highly anticipated 27th Annual National Night Out, taking place on August 1 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s event will be held at Edinburg Municipal Park, 714 S. Raul Longoria Rd. Rio Grande Valley residents are invited to join officers for an evening filled with food, fun, safety tips, and live entertainment featuring Grupo Control. Hundreds of backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year’s National Night Out holds an extra special significance for the Edinburg Police Department as they celebrate a major milestone – their centennial year! For a remarkable 100 years, the Edinburg Police Department has dutifully served and protected the City of Edinburg, demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment to the community.
The 27th Annual Edinburg National Night Out promises to be a highlight of their centennial year celebrations. The event will feature a wide range of activities for all ages, including games, exhibits, and demonstrations. Families and friends can enjoy delicious food from local vendors while engaging in conversations with dedicated officers and learning valuable safety tips. The night will be elevated by a captivating performance from the renowned musical Control, “Los Reyes de La Cumbia,” who will take center stage to entertain the crowd with their lively melodies.
