Swearing-In Ceremony To Be Held Today For New Edinburg Fire Department Chief 

Edinburg, TX, August 18, 2023 – The City of Edinburg would like to invite the community to a Swearing-In Ceremony for the Edinburg Fire Department’s new Fire Chief, Omar Garza, on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. 

The event will be held at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, located at 415 W. University Drive. Chief Garza was selected for the position at the beginning of this month.

Boasting an impressive record of nearly three decades of exemplary service in the fire department, Chief Garza steps into his new leadership role after his tenure as the Fire Marshal under the guidance of Chief Shawn Snider. The Swearing-In Ceremony serves to officially mark Chief Garza’s commitment to the city of Edinburg and its community.
