One Fatality After Minivan Drives Into 18-Wheeler
Edinburg, Texas, August 22, 2023 – One person died after an accident last night on the Frontage Road on I-69.
On Monday, August 21, 2023, shortly before 9 p.m., Edinburg Police Department officers responded to a major accident in the area of northbound I-69 Frontage Rd and E. Rogers Rd.
A beige Chrysler minivan struck the rear of an 18-wheeler that was traveling north on Frontage Rd. The minivan sustained major damage, and the driver was quickly transported last night to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance with major injuries.
The driver of the Chrysler minivan passed away today due to his injuries. He has been identified as 25-year-old Edinburg resident Daniel Laureano.
The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained no injuries and cooperated with law enforcement. This is an active investigation.
