One Dead, One Injured In Edinburg Car Accident

Edinburg, TX- March 13, 2023

On Sunday, March 12, 2023 Edinburg Police Department officers responded to the 4900 block of S. 25th Ave (Southbound Frontage Rd.) in reference to a single-vehicle major accident. Two women were ejected from the vehicle.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed that two females had been ejected from the vehicle. The women were not wearing their seatbelts. Edinburg Fire Department, along with EMS, responded to the scene and provided medical attention to the females.

The driver was identified as a 20-year-old, who sustained major injuries, along with a 45-year-old passenger who was not responding. Both women were transported to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance where the 45-year-old passenger, a resident of Edinburg, was later pronounced dead.

The Edinburg PD Traffic Investigation Division is actively investigating the case.
