Edinburg PD Rescue 21 Immigrants At Stash House, Arrest One Person For Meth

Edinburg Police officers rescued 21 undocumented immigrants over the weekend. One individual was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

The incident began Saturday morning, November 12, at 3:30 am when police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Thompson Street after a resident’s call about a man screaming while standing in the street. 

Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with Alberto Dominguez, a 35-year-old man who said he was being held against his will in a house at another location. Officers then a home in the 1600 block of Bract Street where Dominguez claimed he was being held against his will. 

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that 21 undocumented immigrants were being housed inside the residence. 

Edinburg police released the immigrants to Border Patrol agents. Officers also discovered 42 grams of methamphetamine and charged with a 2nd degree felony for possession of a control substance.

After being processed and making an appearance before a judge, Dominguez was charged and given a $70,000 bond. He was transferred to Hidalgo County jail. It was unclear whether Dominguez was actually being held against his will. Edinburg police said the case is still under investigation.
