Edinburg PD Arrest 2 For Kidnapping

On Tuesday July 5, 2022 just after 9 A.M., Edinburg police officers were alerted to a possible kidnapping. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned a woman was being held against her will at a home in the 300 block of Keystone Street.

Officers’ investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Josue Eduardo Garcia-Mendoza who was charged with one count of Aggravated Kidnapping and one count of Smuggling of a Person. Mendoza is being held on a $110,000 bond.

21-year-old Stephanie Guadalupe Pena was arrested and arraigned on one count of Aggravated Kidnapping and one count of Smuggling of a Person. Pena received a $100,000 bond.

The arraignment for the third suspect is pending.
