Road Closure Notice on Canton Rd for Drainage Improvements

Closure between Tower Rd and Val Verde Rd

The Hidalgo County Precinct 4 and the Hidalgo County Drainage District No 1 will be working
on storm water improvements at Canton Rd. between Tower Rd and Val Verde Rd as part of the
2022 drainage improvements projects.
In order to perform the drainage improvements and for the safety of the residents, the contractor will be closing Canton Rd. between Tower Rd and Val Verde Rd beginning at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Residents along these limits will still be able to access their homes and businesses (see enclosed map).
While safety signage will be placed, motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along in the area. Motorists should expect some delays and congestion.
