Hidalgo County Judge Cortez Recognizes Emergency Management Coordinators

McALLEN – The Atlantic hurricane season starts on June 1. Emergency management coordinators from various agencies have been preparing for any potential hurricane threats.

A ceremony honoring those who keep our community safe through emergency response plans, disaster education, training and assistance will be held by the Office of the Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez.

“The looming hurricane season reminds us of the value of our emergency management teams,” Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said. “These highly skilled individuals whose communication, critical-thinking, decision making, interpersonal and leadership skills prove invaluable to our community.

The ceremony  will take place at noon on Monday, May 23, 2022.

Additionally, Judge Cortez’ Office in partnership with the International Museum of Art and Science present the closing of the “Unsinkable: Voices from the Storm” exhibit. The exhibition will be available to the public until Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
