Employ Edinburg Job Fair This Thursday
Employ Edinburg Will Host Over 50 Diverse Employers Seeking to Fill Various Positions
EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg, the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), the Edinburg Library, Workforce Solutions, and South Texas College are excited to be partnering up to bring you the ‘Employ Edinburg’ Job Fair!
With over 50 employers participating, ‘Employ Edinburg’ will allow those looking for a job and/or career advancement the opportunity to meet with recruiters and be interviewed on-site. ‘Employ Edinburg’ will take place this Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at the Edinburg Conference Center of Renaissance located at 118 Paseo Del Prado in Edinburg, TX.
“When we are inviting employers, we keep in mind that there are all types of job seekers that come in. We have everything from entry-level to professional,” said Roberto Mora with Workforce Solutions. “It’s very important to meet the employers directly because you get a better feel of the organization.”
Whether you’re a high school graduate, recent college graduate, ready to go back to work, ready for career advancement, or a complete career change, ‘Employ Edinburg’ will allow you the ability to network with over 50 employers actively recruiting to fill a variety of full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions. Some recruiters are conducting on-site interviews.
For those interested in attending the job fair, additional assistance in constructing and strengthening their resume and/or interview skills will also be available this week-the Dustin Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg is offering two free employability workshops that will help candidates feel confident and prepared for the job fair. The Resume Writing Workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 24th, and the Interviewing Skills Workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 25th. Both of these workshops will be held at the Dustin Sekula Memorial Library between 2 PM – 4 PM, located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd, Edinburg TX.
“This collaboration with our partners, we really want to ensure that residents have access to opportunities for employment,” said Blanca Davila, the Economic Development Director for the city of Edinburg, “We worked very closely with Workforce Solutions to bring in those employers that are actively seeking jobseekers to host a job fair and connect them.”
Candidates are encouraged to bring their resumes and dress for success. Computers and printers will be available at the job fair for those who may need them.
