Edinburg PD Report Auto-Cycle Accident; Cyclist Sent To Local Hospital 

On Tuesday, April 19, 2022 just after 6:00 am, Edinburg police officers were called to the 2600 block of South Business 281 in reference to an accident involving a motor vehicle and an electric bicycle. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a 42-year-old man lying on the roadway and a 2017 gray Ford Explorer with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Through the investigation, officers learned the man was riding an electric bicycle heading southbound on the shoulder along Business 281 when he was struck by the driver of the Ford Explorer.  The 42-year-old woman driving the Ford Explorer stopped and rendered aid to the man until first responders arrived.

The cyclist was taken to DHR to be treated for his injuries.

This case is still under investigation.
